The state-owned transport company, SOTRACO, has begun receiving a historic fleet of 500 new buses to boost urban mobility across the country. Deliveries kicked off in August 2025, with 155 buses officially handed over on August 11 by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo at SOTRACO’s Ouagadougou headquarters.

The remaining 375 buses are expected by October 2025, completing the order. This major acquisition, approved by the Council of Ministers in December 2024 and financed with support from Vista Bank Group, marks the largest expansion in SOTRACO’s history.

🇧🇫 Burkina Faso is witnessing remarkable progress under the visionary leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
