Double Tragedy as Grieving Father Dies at Son’s Funeral

0

A family in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, has been left devastated after 61-year-old Norman White collapsed and died while attending the funeral of his son, David Beilicki.

Norman, who was at St Bede’s Chapel at Teesside Crematorium to pay his final respects, is believed to have suffered a massive heart attack during the service. Paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save him.

His son, 41-year-old David, had been found dead earlier this year on a relative’s sofa following a long battle with addiction. Despite years of struggle, his family revealed he had been making progress in recovery and had been staying clean from drugs at the time of his passing.

David’s sister, Chantelle, spoke about his journey, sharing that he had shown signs of turning his life around. “He had been doing well. He was staying clean and making progress with his recovery,” she said.

Tragically, David’s death occurred exactly ten years after the memorial service for his stillborn twin sons, compounding the family’s grief.

Now, the sudden passing of Norman during the funeral has left the family reeling from a double tragedy, mourning both father and son in the space of days.

Friends and community members have since expressed their condolences, describing the events as “unbearably heartbreaking.”

Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola gave an emotional and heartfelt speech at the wedding of his daughter, Temi Otedola, and Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi. The oil magnate and philanthropist showered blessings on the newlyweds while offering fatherly counsel that has since sparked widespread discussion across social media.

In his address, Otedola warmly praised Temi’s choice of partner. “Temi, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. You found a great guy. Very great guy. Blessed guy. He comes from a very decent family,” he said, drawing applause from guests at the glamorous event.

However, his most striking words came in his advice to his daughter regarding marriage dynamics. “One thing I will advise you, Temi, is… You have to succumb to the whims and curses of your husband. Okay? He is your husband and he is your boss. There is no more daddy. Don’t come here.”

The remark stirred reactions online, with many debating the meaning of “succumb” and whether Otedola was reinforcing traditional expectations of marriage or emphasizing respect and submission as a foundation for lasting union.

Otedola went on to highlight the visible bond between the couple, describing their love as genuine and divine. “You are truly in love with each other. Truly, truly in love with each other. Temi is an entrepreneur. Tosin is an entrepreneur. So you match each other. This is made in heaven.”

Turning to Mr Eazi, the billionaire expressed confidence in his potential: “But Tosin… You are going to go places. I have seen the entrepreneurial skill in you. When we were much younger, we think we are used to us but not like your generation. And it has always paid off.”

He further encouraged the couple to nurture their marriage in private, emphasizing discretion in handling conflicts. “Continue to love, Temi. When you have issues, problems, just keep it within yourself. Never call any friend and have this problem. Just keep it within your walls. And God will bless you and bless your marriage.”

As he concluded, Otedola expressed gratitude to the guests who traveled from different parts of the world to celebrate with his family. “I thank you all. And I wish you safe travels back to various places you have come from. God bless you all. I love you all. Thank you all.”

The wedding, which has been described as one of the most glamorous celebrity unions of the year, continues to trend across Nigeria, Ghana, and the diaspora — not just for its glitz and star-studded attendance but also for the billionaire’s words that many say reflect both tradition and timeless fatherly advice.
