Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The charges relate to incidents involving three women.

The 32-year-old, who plays his club football with Villarreal in Spain, appeared before a UK court to enter his plea. His trial has been scheduled to begin on 2 November 2026.

Partey denies all allegations. His legal representatives say he will contest the charges and maintain his innocence throughout proceedings.
The Ghana Football Association has not yet commented on whether the case will affect his international duties. Partey has been a key figure for Ghana, featuring in multiple Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup tournaments.
The case is expected to draw significant public attention given the midfielder’s high profile both in Ghana and abroad.
